Alaris Antennas is a South African company that designs and builds advanced antenna systems for electronic warfare and defence applications. It forms part of the Alaris Holdings Ltd group, an international radio frequency (RF) technology company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (AltX). Alaris Antennas became an official member of the group in 2015.
The company focuses on developing high-performance Direction Finding antennas and other specialised RF solutions. Its team includes skilled electronic, industrial and mechanical engineers who work together to create reliable, innovative products.

ABOUT THE ALARIS ANTENNAS BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED
Alaris Antennas is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2026 academic year.
Bursaries will be awarded for undergraduate and postgraduate studies, within the following fields:
- Undergraduate Bursary: Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering students, interested in the microwave/ RF antenna field.
- Postgraduate Bursary: Masters or PhD students with a passion for microwave and RF antenna research.

MORE ABOUT THE ALARIS ANTENNAS BURSARY PROGRAMME – EXPENSES COVERED & OBLIGATIONS
The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: registration fees, tuition fees, accommodation and a subsistence allowance.
The undergraduate bursary may be renewed each year, based on academic performance.
Bursary recipients will be required to complete vacation work at the companies Johannesburg offices. Undergraduate students will complete vacation work twice a year, for 3 weeks at a time, while Postgraduate students will complete vac work for a minimum 6 weeks over a 2 year period. During vacation work, all flights and accommodation will be covered by the company.
Students will be required to sign a bursary contract, which includes a work-back clause after graduation.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ALARIS ANTENNAS BURSARY
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
Undergraduate Bursary:
- You must be studying towards an undergraduate qualification within one of the Engineering fields listed above
- You must be entering your 3rd or 4th year of study in 2026
- You must be interested in the microwave/ RF antenna field
- You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 75% for the academic year
- You must be willing to complete vacation work at the Johannesburg offices
- Preference will be given to students with high academic results in relevant subjects, particularly Electromagnetics
- BBBEE requirements apply
Postgraduate Bursary:
- You must be studying towards a Masters or PhD qualification
- You must have a passion for microwave and RF antenna research
- You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 70% for the academic year
- You must have an interest in pursuing a career in the microwave/ RF antenna field
- You must be willing to complete vacation work at the Johannesburg offices
- Preference will be given to students with exceptional results in relevant subjects, particularly Electromagnetics
- No BBBEE requirements apply
