WHAT EXPENSES DOES THE PPC BURSARY COVER?

The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: registration fees, tuition fees, prescribed textbooks, stationery, meals allowance, accommodation allowance, laptop, and other discretionary allowances, in line with budget provision and PPC bursary committee recommendation.

WHAT ARE THE OBLIGATIONS OF THE PPC BURSARY?

Bursary recipients will be required to partake in vacation work within PPC sites, as and when required.

Bursary recipients must enter into a bursary contract with PPC which will stipulate the
terms and conditions of the bursary.

WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE PPC BURSARY?

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered)

• You must be a South African citizen
• You must be studying full-time, towards a qualification within one of the fields of study listed above
• You must be studying at a recognised and accredited university in South Africa
• You must have achieved a minimum average pass rate of 60% in your current and previous study years (if this is not stipulated in the entrance requirements for the qualification)
• You must be interested in pursuing a career in the mining/ manufacturing industry
• You must have NO criminial record
• Preference will be given to students entering their 3rd year of study (however, students in other years should also apply)

Note: there is no application form to be completed for this bursary application – students need only submit the list of documents below to apply.

WHAT DOCUMENTS MUST I SUBMIT FOR THE PPC BURSARY?

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your online application (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):

• ID document (certified copy)
• Proof of university registration for 2026
• Proof of University application/ provisional acceptance letter for 2027
• University statement of results, if already enrolled for 1st year
• Proof of residence
• Updated CV

WHAT IS THE SELECTION PROCESS FOR THE PPC BURSARY?

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 8 weeks after the closing date. If you do not receive any written communication feedback by this time, please consider your application unsuccessful.

WHEN IS THE CLOSING DATE FOR THE PPC BURSARY?

29 October 2026.
