ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROVIDER – BANKSETA

The Banking Sector Education and Training Authority (BANKSETA) is one of the 21 SETA’s of the South African government, which focus on providing skills development and training to people employed or seeking employment in their sectors.

The Bankseta’s mission is to support transformation and people development and through partnerships, to enable stakeholders to advance the national and global position of the broader banking and microfinance sector.
 

ABOUT THE BANKSETA KUYASA LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME

Bankseta is inviting graduates to apply for the Kuyasa Learnership, commencing in 2024.

The company is seeking IT graduates who are keen to join the world of banking, to join the 1 year learnership programme in the Banking and Alternative Banking sector.

By completing the programme, learners will gain 1 year of working experience and an NQF level qualification relevant to the banking sector.

Training will take place at centres in Gauteng, Western Cape, Eastern Cape and the Free State. Learners will attend formal academic training and will be responsible for their own transport to anf from the venue.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE THE BANKSETA KUYASA LEARNERSHIP

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • You must be a South African Citizen
  • You must be under 35 years old on 1 February 2024
  • You must be currently unemployed and NOT have any pending employment offers
  • You must have completed a 3 year tertiary qualification by November 2022 and have graduated
  • You must have completed one of the following 3 year tertiary qualifications: Bachelor of IT: Business Systems Information Technology, Information Systems, Informatics, National Diploma in Business Applications, National Diploma in IT (specialising in Business Analysis), Diploma in Business Information Technology
  • You must NOT be currently registered as a student (part or full-time) at a tertiary institution
  • You must NOT be studying intend on studying from February 2024 to January 2025
  • You must have a clear criminal record and NOT have any pending criminal record
  • You must have a clear credit record
  • You must have strong English communication skills – written and verbal
  • You must be committed to attending all the required training sessions and be able to completed the learnership within the given time
  • You must be able to have full attendance at work – including work on a Saturday
  • You must NOT have participated in any previous Learnerships
  • Candidates with disabilities are encouraged to apply

Learners who meet the eligibility criteria, can apply by submitting clear copies of the following documentation (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application be disregarded):

  • Identity Document (certified copy)
  • Matric Certificate (certified copy)
  • Tertiary Qualification Certificate (certified copy)
  • Statement of Results (stamped by relevant tertiary institution) (certified copy)
  • Medical certificate (in the case of a person with a disability) (certified copy)
  • CV

Note: documents must be certified – do not submit original documents as they will not be returned.

NOTES THE THE BANKSETA KUYASA LEARNERSHIP

  • Bankseta does NOT charge any application fees.
  • When applying, choose the centre that is closest to you as this is where your interview will be held, as well as placement. No transfers will be allowed. Please only choose 1 centre.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by 31 January 2024 for an interview – if you do not receive any correspondence, then your application was unfortunately not successful.
