WHAT FIELDS OF STUDY DOES THE VKB BURSARY COVER?
The VKB Group is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2027 academic year.
Bursaries will be awarded for studies towards the following qualifications:
- Economic Sciences with Agricultural Economics and Risk Management (BCom)
- Economic Sciences with Risk Management (BCom)
- Management Accountancy (BCom)
- Quantitative Risk Management (BSc)

WHAT IS THE SELECTION CRITERIA FOR THE VKB BURSARY?
Bursary recipients will be required to complete vacation work at one of the VKB regional head offices.
After graduation, students must be willing to relocate for potential employment or work-back obligations.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 30 days after the closing date. If you do not receive any feedback by this, please consider your application unsuccessful.

WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE VKB BURSARY?
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying for the bursary (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must have completed Matric
- You must be studying towards one of the degree qualifications listed above
- You must be currently in your 1st year or have completed your 1st year of study
- You must be studying at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
- You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 60% in your major subjects
- You must be passionate and driven to complete your studies
- You must be willing to complete vacation work at one of the VKB regional head offices during university holidays
- You must be fluent in English and Afrikaans (spoken and written)
- You must be willing to relocate after studies for potential employment or work-back obligations

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your completed application (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):
- ID document (certified copy)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Passport sized photo
- Matric certificate
- Full academic record including current year results

WHAT DOES THE VKB GROUP DO?
The VKB Group is a South African agricultural enterprise with a history dating back to 1919. Headquartered in Reitz, Free State, the Group has grown from its agricultural roots into a diversified business operating across various stages of the food and agricultural value chain.
