WHAT FIELDS OF STUDY DOES THE EMEDIA BURSARY COVER?

The eMedia Group is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2026 academic year.

Bursaries will be awarded for degree or diploma studies within Television, Radio, Broadcasting and any other Media related studies.

eMedia is looking to fund students who are passionate about pursuing a career in the Television or Radio sector.

WHAT EXPENSES DOES THE EMEDIA BURSARY COVER?

The bursary will provide cover for tuition fees only. The bursary will NOT cover the costs of any other expenses, such as accommodation, books or other living expenses.

WHAT IS THE SELECTION PROCESS FOR THE EMEDIA BURSARY?

Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend an interview. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications upon completion of the recruitment process.

WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE EMEDIA BURSARY?

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must have completed Matric with a minimum overall average of 65%
  • You must be studying full-time towards a Degree or Diploma qualification, within Television, Radio, Broadcasting and any other Media related field
  • You must be a 1st year student
  • You must be studying at an accredited University in South Africa
  • You must be passionate about pursuing a career in the Television or Radio space
  • You must have a strong academic record
  • You must be in need of financial assistance to complete your studies
  • You must NOT be receiving any other financial assistance, bursary or funding (including NSFAS)

WHAT DOCUMENTS MUST I SUBMIT WHEN APPLYING FOR THE EMEDIA BURSARY?

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your online application (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):

  • ID document (certified copy – not older than 3 months)
  • Matric certificate / statement of results (not older than 3 months)
  • Proof of acceptance from a South African university (clearly indicating your media-related field of study)
  • Most recent updated university fee statement (obtained from your student portal or the university finance office)
  • Breakdown of academic fees per annum
  • Parents or guardians proof of household income (recent payslips or letters of employment if employed, and latest 3 months’ bank statements (not older than three months) for each parent or guardian)
  • Parents or guardians 3 months recent bank statements
