ABOUT THE BBT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME – EXPENSES COVERED & VALUE

The amount of the annual scholarship award will be determined by the funds that are available at the BBT and the needs of the candidate, as such, the scholarship amount may vary each year.

The BBT will use a benchmark tool to determine the allocation of costs, with scholarship recipients receiving funding for the following: tuition fees, books and boarding fees (including meals).

Should the candidate be receiving another scholarship (one which excludes a Stellenbosch University (SU) merit scholarship) and their total scholarship amount exceeds the criteria, the BBT scholarship will then be reduced by that same amount.

The BBT scholarship fund will be paid directly to the student’s fee account at SU.

ABOUT THE BBT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME – SELECTION & RENEWAL

The BBT scholarship is awarded for one year only, with candidates having the opportunity to re-apply for the scholarship for the preceding year. To qualify for this, candidates will need to pass a minimum of 70% of their credits. Should the candidate not obtain this, the trustees reserve the right to terminate both the scholarship and the funding. As such, the decision of the Trustees to renew the award and continue the scholarship funding is final and non-negotiable.

Successful recipients of the BBT Scholarship award will be announced on 30 November 2023.
