The Reatile Foundation Trust is a Non-profit wholey black-owned organization, created by the Reatile Group in 2003 to take advantage of opportunities made possible by the economic transformation of South Africa. Reatile has been successful in operating, managing, maintaining, and growing a portfolio of investments with some of the biggest energy companies within the country and the world.
The company has also actively participated in many aspects of the energy sector, with its team of experts developing and maintaining effective relationships with energy sector giants. ABOUT THE REATILE FOUNDATION TRUST BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED
The Reatile Foundation Trust, partnered with the University of Johannesburg, is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2025 academic year.
Bursaries will be awarded for undergraduate studies at the University of Johannesburg (UJ), within the following fields:
- Accounting
- Chemical Engineering
- Environmental Sciences
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering

MORE ABOUT THE REATILE FOUNDATION TRUST BURSARY PROGRAMME – EXPENSES COVERED & SELECTION
The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: registration fees, tuition fees, books, accommodation and a meal allowance.
It is important to note that if a candidate fails a subject, it will be their responsibility to pay for the rewrite of their test/ course. Reatile Trust Will also only sponsor a student once per level of study.
Reatile bursary graduates who obtain qualifications that align with scarce and critical skills may also be given the opportunity to apply for the company’s internship programme at Egoli Gas.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 1 month of the closing date – if you do not receive any feedback by then, please regard your application as unsuccessful.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE REATILE FOUNDATION TRUST BURSARY
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must be black (as determined by the BEE Act)
- You must have completed Matric
- You must be studying at the University of Johannesburg (UJ)
- You must be studying full-time towards a qualification within one of the fields of study listed above
- You must be entering your 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of study in 2025
- You must have obtained a minimum overall aggregate of 65% in 2024
- You must be in financial need
- You must have a combined household gross income of NOT more than R30 000 per month
- You must NOT be receiving any other financial support from any other bursaries or a third-party
- You must be eager to make a difference
