WHAT FIELDS OF STUDY DOES THE EXXARO BURSARY COVER?
Exxaro Corporate Centre (The ConneXXion) is inviting students to apply for their Students Living with a Disability Bursary programme, for the 2027 academic year.
Bursaries will be awarded to students residing in Exxaro host communities (Mpumalanga and Limpopo), for studies within the following fields:
- Agriculture and Environmental Management
- Arts and Humanities
- Business and Economics
- Education and Teaching
- Engineering and Technology
- Health Sciences
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- Law and Social Sciences
- Natural and Physical Sciences

WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE EXXARO BURSARY?
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must be between 18 and 28 years old
- You must reside within an Exxaro host community (in Mpumalanga or Limpopo)
- You must be living with a disability (declared disabled under the Employment Equity Amendment Act (EEA).
- You must be currently enrolled in a minimum 3-year Degree or Diploma programme, within one of the fields of study listed above
- You must be studying at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
- You must be able to maintain an academic average as outlined in the bursary agreement
- You must be committed to attending classes and completing assignments, projects, and examinations
- You must provide academic transcripts or progress updates each semester/ term to the bursary office
- You must participate in bursary initiatives offered by the institution and company (where applicable)
- You must uphold good conduct and represent the company in a positive light
- You must commit to work-back requirements and be able to fulfil any service obligations or internships with Exxaro after graduation (if and when applicable)
- You must inform Exxaro bursary office promptly of any changes in your study programme, institution, or personal circumstances

WHICH DOCUMENTS MUST I SUBMIT FOR THE EXXARO BURSARY?
Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your online application (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):
- ID document (certified copy)
- Matric certificate (certified copy)
- Full tertiary record/ transcripts (on institutions letterhead)
- Proof of disability – letter from medical doctor
- Proof of residence
