ABOUT THE BURSARY PROVIDER – DR JS MOROKA MUNICIPALITY

The Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality is located in the Nkangala District in north-west Mpumalanga. It is the smallest of the six municipalities within the district, populating only 8%of the area. The capital town of the Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality is Siyabusawa, with the municipality forming a major part of the economic region within the Cities of Johannesburg and Tshwane, and Municipalities of Steve Tshwete and Emalahleni. This is due to these areas generating a number of employment opportunities for a large number of people, as well as its potential for growth within the tourism industry.

The Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality consists of 55 villages, consisting of urban, peri-urban, and rural areas. In the municipality, land is often utilized for residential uses with some sections of land being controlled by traditional leaders.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DR JS MOROKA MUNICIPALITY BURSARY

  • You must reside within the Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality, in Mpumalanga province

  • You must be studying or intend on studying full-time, within one of the undergraduate Engineering fields of study listed above
  • You must be studying or intend on studying at a public University in South Africa
