WHAT FIELDS OF STUDY DOES THE WENOSA SCHOLARSHIP COVER?

The Women’s Empowerment Network of South Africa (WENOSA) is inviting students to apply for their Postgraduate Scholarship Programme, for the 2026 academic year.

Scholarships will be awarded to Female students, for undergraduate and postgraduate studies, to cover outstanding study fees:

  • Accounting, Chartered Accountancy, Economics, Financial Sciences
  • Agricultural Sciences
  • Architecture, Engineering and Built Environment
  • Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Information and Digital Technologies
  • Environmental Sciences and Physical Sciences
  • Food Security and Agribusiness
  • Health and Biomedical Sciences
  • Legal Studies
  • Logistics and Supply Chain
  • Mathematical Sciences and Statistics
  • Mining, Energy and Industrial Sciences
  • Research and Innovation
  • Water Sciences and Infrastructure

WENOSA will award a total of 25 scholarships:

  • 10 scholarships for final year undergraduate studies
  • 15 scholarships for postgraduate studies (final year Honours, Master’s or Doctoral)

The scholarship programme provides financial assistance to high-achieving women completing qualifications in disciplines where women remain underrepresented. By helping students reach graduation, WENOSA aims to promote greater female participation in key industries and support the next generation of South African professionals. The total value of the programme is up to R1.25 million.

WHAT EXPENSES ARE COVERED BY THE WENOSA SCHOLARSHIP?

Scholarships will be awarded up to the value of R50 000 per student, which can be used to pay off verified outstanding tuition fees. Funding will be paid directly to the university.

WHAT IS THE SELECTION PROCESS AND OBLIGATIONS OF THE WENOSA SCHOLARSHIP?

Successful applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by 1 October 2026, after evaluation and verification has been completed.

Scholarship recipients may be required to participate in programme evaluations, impact assessments, promotional activities, or alumni engagements related to the scholarship programme

WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE WENOSA SCHOLARSHIP?

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must identify as a Female
  • You must be studying towards an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification, within one of the fields of study listed above
  • You must be in your final year of study in 2026
  • You must be enrolled at a recognised public university in South Africa
  • You must have achieved and maintained a minimum overall average of 65%
  • You must demonstrate financial need and leadership potential
  • You must read and agree to the WENOSA Scholarship terms and conditions (.pdf)
