Important notes regarding the SRD grant

  • If you have selected to be paid via the cardless method at ATM’s, you must ensure that your cellphone number has gone through the RICA process. This will enable recipients to withdraw their cash as pins are sent to the cellphone number on record.
  • If you have selected to be paid your SRD Grant into your bank account, you must ensure that the bank account is in your name – SASSA will not make payments of a recipients grant into another persons bank account as this opens a doorway for fraud.
  • You can also update your contact details by calling the SASSA call centre on 0800 60 10 11, however there is often a long waiting time to get hold of someone.
  • Please remember that you can only submit one request to update your contact details in a 24 hour period.
