WHAT DOES THUNGELA DO?

Thungela Resources is a South African mining company focused on the production and export of high-quality thermal coal. The company has interests in several coal mining operations in South Africa, producing coal with strong calorific value for international energy markets.

Thungela was established following the demerger of Anglo American’s South African thermal coal operations, creating an independent coal producer. Its thermal coal is primarily exported to international customers across India, Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, where it is used mainly for electricity generation.
