About the Learnership

The RCL Foods Supreme Siyabhaka Academy Learnership is a 12‑month, SETA‑accredited programme designed to develop young baking professionals. Throughout the year, learners will receive mentorship and coaching while gaining hands-on experience in bakery operations. At the end of the learnership, successful candidates will obtain a SAQA-endorsed qualification.

What You Will Learn / Key Responsibilities

  • Core baking processes, from ingredient preparation to finished products
  • Food safety, hygiene, and quality control in a production environment
  • Baking operations aligned with RCL Foods’ standards and the SETA’s requirements
  • Professional conduct, workplace readiness, and problem‑solving in a manufacturing setting

Minimum Requirements for the Learnership

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • Grade 12 with Hospitality Studies and Mathematical Literacy.
  • Computer literate (MS Office) is advantageous.
  • Shows drive to achieve performance and willingness to learn and grow.
  • Creative, lateral thinking with a problem‑solving mindset.

Learnership Duration & Qualification

This is a 12‑month programme. Learners will complete a SAQA‑endorsed qualification via SETA, combining theoretical training and practical work required by RCL Foods and the SETA.
