Power Construction is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2026 academic year.
Bursaries will be awarded for to students residing win Gouda, Saron, Tulbagh or Porterville (Western Cape), for studies towards the following qualifications:
- BSc or BEng in Civil Engineering
- National Diploma in Civil Engineering / Construction

WHAT IS THE SELECTION PROCESS FOR THE POWER CONSTRUCTION BURSARY?
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 30 days of the closing date. If you do not receive any feedback, please regard your application as unsuccessful.
DOES THE POWER CONSTRUCTION BURSARY HAVE A WORK BACK OBLIGATION?
Bursary recipients will be required to sign a bursary agreement with Power Construction, and after graduation, will be required to work for the company for an agreed time.

WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE POWER CONSTRUCTION BURSARY?
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must reside within Gouda, Saron, Tulbagh or Porterville, in the Western Cape province
- You must be enrolled and studying towards a BSC, BEng or National Diploma in Civil Engineering
- You must be studying at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
- You must be willing to build a career in a Civil Construction company
- You must have good problem-solving skills
- You must have strong computer literacy skills, especially in Microsoft Excel
- You must have excellent interpersonal skills
- You must be able to work independently and take initiative
- You must have proven leadership potential
- You must be willing to work and/or travel in outlying areas for long periods
- The following skills will be an added advantage, but are not mandatory:
- A valid code 08 driver’s license
- The ability to adapt in challenging environments
- The ability to speak 2 or more South African official languages
