WHAT FIELDS OF STUDY DOES THE SOLAR CAPITAL ORANGE BURSARY COVER?

Solar Capital Orange is inviting students to apply for their Bursary Programme, for the 2027 academic year.

Bursaries will be awarded for to students residing in the Hantam District (Loeriesfontein, Nieuwoudtville, Calvinia, Brandvlei and surrounding areas) in the Northern Cape, for studies in ANY field.

WHAT EXPENSES DOES THE SOLAR CAPITAL ORANGE BURSARY COVER?

The bursary may provide cover for the following expenses (which will be determined on an individual basis): registration fees, tuition fees, examination fees, learning materials (textbooks, stationary, etc.), accommodation in an institution residence or equivalent and meals.

The bursary will cover the entire duration of the degree.

WHAT IS THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE SOLAR CAPITAL ORANGE BURSARY?

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

• You must be a South African citizen
• You must reside in the Hantam District (namely Loeriesfontein, Nieuwoudtville, Calvinia, Brandvlei), in the Northern Cape province
• You must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
• You must be studying or intend on studying at a public institution of higher learning in South Africa (FETC, University of Technology or University)
• You must have a strong academic record
• You must have a household income of NOT more than R350 000 per year

WHAT DOES SOLAR CAPITAL ORANGE DO?

Solar Capital Orange is a renewable energy project focused on generating clean electricity from solar power in South Africa. The project forms part of the country’s expanding renewable energy sector and contributes to the transition towards a more sustainable and diversified energy supply.

Located in the Northern Cape, Solar Capital Orange makes use of the region’s strong solar resources to produce electricity for the national grid.
