The Orange South Africa Trust, in partnership with Siyakha, is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2027 academic year.
Bursaries will be awarded for Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies within STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or IT (Information Technology) qualifications.

WHAT EXPENSES DOES THE ORANGE SOUTH AFRICA TRUST BURSARY COVER?
The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: tuition fees, registration fees, learning materials, software, equipment and data.
The bursary may also cover accommodation, subject to funding and individual need.
Final awarding of bursaries is subject to verification, programme criteria and available resources.
WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE ORANGE SOUTH AFRICA TRUST BURSARY?
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must be Black
- You must be between 18 and 35 years old
- You must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- You must have achieved a minimum result of 70% for Mathematics in Matric
- You must be studying or intend on studying towards an Undergraduate or Postgraduate STEM or IT-related qualification
- You must have achieved satisfactory academic progress, if currently studying
- You must be studying or intend on studying at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa

WHAT DOCUMENTS MUST BE SUBMITTED FOR THE ORANGE SOUTH AFRICA TRUST BURSARY?
Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your online application (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):
- ID document (certified copy)
- Matric latest results, if currently in Matric
- Matric certificate, if completed Matric
- Latest academic transcripts, if currently studying
- Proof of registration or admission
- Motivation letter to support your application (500 words)
- Curriculum Vitae, highlighting academic achievements and experience
- Parents or guardians proof of household income (latest payslips if employed/ affidavit if unemployed)
- Parents or guardians 3 months bank statements
- Proof of disability, if applicable
