WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE TIRISANO CONSTRUCTION FUND BURSARY?

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must be under 35 years old
  • You must have completed Matric
  • You must have achieved a minimum APS score of 42 in Matric
  • You must be studying full-time, towards a qualification within one of the Construction and Built Environment fields listed above
  • You must be studying at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
  • You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 65% in your tertiary studies
  • You must have a total family household income of less than R650 000 per annum
  • Preference will be given to students from disadvantaged schools, communities, and rural areas

WHAT DOES THE TIRISANO CONSTRUCTION FUND DO?

The Tirisano Construction Fund Limited is an initiative that was form between government and major construction companies, with the aim of supporting growth and transformation in South Africa’s construction industry.

The fund is committed to developing skills, supporting small and emerging contractors, and contributing to infrastructure development across the country.

The Tirisano Construction Fund bursary was designed to support students who are studying towards careers in the built environment, such as engineering, construction management, and related technical fields. By helping cover the cost of tertiary education, the fund opens doors for young South Africans who may not otherwise have access to these opportunities.

The bursary also aims to contributes to building a stronger, more skilled workforce for the construction sector. In doing so, the Tirisano Construction Fund is not only investing in individual students, but also in the long-term development of the industry and the country as a whole.
