WHAT DOES THE DONALD WHITE/ MANDLA A. NDWANYA MEMORIAL FUND DO?

The Donald White / Mandla A. Ndwanya Memorial Fund is an educational support initiative established in 2012 to honour the lives and legacies of Donald White, a dedicated educator, and Mandla Andrew Ndwanya, who was passionate about business education in South Africa. Founded by the White family, the fund aims to expand educational opportunities for young people in Nyanga, Gugulethu and surrounding communities in the Western Cape.

The organisation raises charitable contributions to help learners access essential school resources and pursue further studies. Its support has included providing school uniforms and shoes to learners at Mkhanyiseli Primary School and John Pama Primary School in Nyanga. The fund also works to create scholarship opportunities for South African and American students, helping them progress to colleges and universities.

In addition to its educational programmes, the memorial fund has supported international learning and cultural exchange by facilitating internship opportunities for US college students in Cape Town, in collaboration with Volunteer Adventure Corps (VAC). Through its community initiatives and educational partnerships, the fund seeks to honour the two men’s legacies while creating meaningful opportunities for students in both countries.
