WHAT FIELDS OF STUDY DOES THE CAROLINE MACK FOUNDATION BURSARY COVER?

SD Recruitment Pty Ltd, partnered with the Caroline Mack Foundation, is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2027 academic year.

1 bursary will be awarded to students residing in the Western Cape, for studies towards a SANC-recognised Nursing qualification.

WHAT EXPENSES ARE COVERED BY THE CAROLINE MACK FOUNDATION BURSARY?

The bursary will provide cover of full tuition fees, for the duration of the qualification. Students will also receive a small stipend per month.

Students will also receive the following benefits: support and mentorship from industry professionals, the chance to begin your healthcare career, and pre-placement medical screening which is faciliated and provided by the Foundation.

WHAT ARE THE OBLIGATIONS OF THE CAROLINE MACK FOUNDATION BURSARY?

After graduation, students are required to work-back the funding awarded. Community Service Year will count towards the student’s 1st year of bursary obligation.

Bursary recipients must maintaining the required academic performance each year, in order to keep receiving funding.

WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE CAROLINE MACK FOUNDATION BURSARY?

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must be residing in the Western Cape province
  • You must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
  • You must be studying or intend on studying towards an undergraduate SANC-recognised Nursing qualification
  • You must be enrolled or accepted to study at a recognised and accredited Higher Education Institution (HEI) in South Africa
  • You must have achieved a minimum academic average of 65%
  • You must have proven financial need (preference will be given to students who could not otherwise afford to study)

WHAT DOES THE CAROLINE MACK FOUNDATION & SD RECRUITMENT DO?

The Caroline Mack Foundation was founded by the late Caroline Mack, who also established SD Recruitment, to turn her commitment to youth development into practical opportunities for young South Africans. Drawing on her experience in healthcare recruitment and workforce development, Caroline was passionate about helping people build meaningful careers and access opportunities that could change their lives.

Established in 2023, the foundation focuses on supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals by awarding full bursaries to deserving nursing students. Through this financial support, the Caroline Mack Foundation aims to remove some of the barriers that prevent talented students from pursuing a career in nursing while contributing to the development of South Africa’s healthcare workforce.
