ABOUT THE BURSARY PROVIDER – BOPCONS

Bophelong Construction (t/a BopCons) is a well-established South African civil engineering company that has been shaping infrastructure since its founding in 1984. With over four decades of experience, the company has built a strong reputation for excellence in roadworks, bulk earthmoving, and large-scale infrastructure projects.

Today, BopCons operates as a Level 1 BBBEE contributor and holds a 9CE CIDB grading, reflecting its capability to handle complex, high-value civil engineering contracts. The company successfully delivers both conventional construction projects and turnkey design-and-build solutions, working in close collaboration with leading consulting engineers to achieve quality, efficiency, and innovation.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE BOPCONS BURSARY

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

• You must be a South African citizen
• You must be between 18 and 28 years old
• You must be studying towards a Civil Engineering qualification
• You must be registered at a recognised and accredited University in South Africa
• You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 65%
• You must NOT be receiving any other funding from another institution
• Preference will be given to students from a previously disadvantaged background

Students who meet the above criteria, may apply via email to: recruitment@bopcons.co.za
(Insert the words “BopCons Bursary 2026” in the email subject line).

Note: there is no application form to be completed for this bursary application – students need only submit the list of documents below to apply.
 

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your email application (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):

• ID document (certified copy)
• Matric certificate (certified copy)
• Most recent academic record
• Statement of tuition fees
• Detailed Curriculum Vitae
