ABOUT THE BURSARY PROVIDER – PLETTENBERG BAY ROTARY CLUB

The Rotary Club of Plettenberg Bay is part of the worldwide Rotary International network, dedicated to promoting community development, ethical leadership, and service above self. Based in the coastal town of Plettenberg Bay, South Africa, the club plays an active role in improving local communities through education, youth empowerment, and heritage preservation initiatives.

Through its various projects, the Plettenberg Bay Rotary Club has supported local schools, youth development programmes, and the restoration of important historical landmarks. Members meet twice a month — on the second and fourth Thursday — to collaborate, plan community initiatives, and strengthen fellowship among professionals and volunteers.

By partnering with other local and international organisations, the club continues to make a meaningful and lasting impact, fostering growth and opportunity within the Plettenberg Bay community and beyond.
 

ABOUT THE PLETTENBERG BAY ROTARY CLUB BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED

Plettenberg Bay Rotary Club is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2026 academic year.

Bursaries will be awarded to students residing in the Bitou area (Western Cape), for studies in ANY field.

The bursary will provide partial funding only.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PLETTENBERG BAY ROTARY CLUB BURSARY

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must reside within the Bitou area, in the Western Cape province
  • You must have completed school in the Bitou area
  • You must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
  • You must be studying or intend on studying at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
  • You must have a strong academic record
  • You must have a strong will to succeed
  • You must have a record of good conduct and be a role model for other students
  • You must NOT qualify for NSFAS funding
