The South African National Accreditation System (SANAS) is a national body that assesses and grants formal recognition (accreditation) to organizations like testing labs, inspection bodies, and certification bodies, confirming their competence to international standards, thereby ensuring quality, reliability, and facilitating trade by building trust in South African products and services globally. It acts as a crucial link in quality infrastructure, mandated by government and collaborating internationally (ILAC/IAF) to support industry, government, and consumers.
ABOUT THE SANAS BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED
The South African National Accreditation System (SANAS) is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2026 academic year.
Bursaries will be awarded for studies in ANY field (National Diploma, Degree, Honours or Postgraduate Diploma).

MORE ABOUT THE SANAS BURSARY PROGRAMME – SELECTION
The bursary will cover the cost of tuition fees only, capped at the following amounts:
- National Diploma or Degree studies: up to R50 000
- Honours or Postgraduate Diploma studies: up to R70 000
The bursary will NOT cover any other study fees.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SANAS BURSARY
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must have completed Matric
- You must be studying or intend on studying towards a National Diploma, Degree, Honours or Postgraduate Diploma qualification, in ANY field
- You must be studying or intend on studying at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
- You must be committed to advancing your education and building future skills in the country
HOW TO APPLY FOR THE SANAS BURSARY
Download and complete the SANAS Bursary Application Form 2026 (.pdf)
Enter “www.zabursaries.co.za” in the field asking how you heard about the SANAS bursary.
Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your completed application form (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):
- ID document (certified copy)
- Matric certificate (certified copy)
- Proof of household income: parents or guardians latest payslips if employed/ affidavit if unemployed/ proof of pension or social grant if applicable
- Course Outline
- Proof of admission or registration by Higher Educational Institution
