Wilmar SA is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2027 academic year.

Bursaries will be awarded to students entering their final year of undergraduate degree studies, within the following fields:

  • Econometrics
  • Engineering
  • Finance
  • Human Resources Management
  • International Trade

  • Marketing or anything sales-related

WHAT EXPENSES DOES THE WILMAR BURSARY COVER?

The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: tuition fees, accommodation, book allowance and living allowance.

WHAT IS THE SELECTION PROCESS FOR THE WILMAR BURSARY?

Candidates will be selected based on financial need and academic potential.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 2 weeks of the closing date. If you do not receive feedback by this time, please consider your application unsuccessful. The final selection is at Wilmar SA’s discretion.

WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE WILMAR BURSARY?

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must be a Historically Disadvantaged Persons and/or from an underprivileged background (as defined in the Employment Equity Act 55 of 1998 )
  • You must be a currently enrolled for an undergraduate degree, within one of the fields of study listed above
  • You must be entering your final year of undergraduate studies in 2027
  • You must be studying at accredited institution of higher learning in South Africa
  • You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 70% in your most recent examinations

WHICH DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED TO APPLY FOR THE WILMAR BURSARY?

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your online application (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):

  • ID document (certified copy)
  • Head and shoulders photo
  • Matric final results/ certificate
  • Full academic record including 2026 Semester 1 results
  • Parents or guardians proof of household income (latest payslips if employed/ affidavit if unemployed)
