WHAT FIELDS OF STUDY DOES THE SACBW FOUNDATION BURSARY COVER?

The SACBW Foundation is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2027 academic year.

Bursaries will be awarded to female students, for studies within the following fields:

  • Accounting and Bookkeeping
  • Business Development Management
  • Digital Marketing
  • Marketing Management
  • Practical Entrepreneurship

Note: other fields of study may be considered by the SACBW Foundation NPC Board of Directors, but preference will be given to the above courses listed.

Through their bursary programme, the SACBW Foundation NPC aims to provide financial assistance to academically deserving female matric learners who require support to pursue higher education. The programme is dedicated to helping young women achieve their educational and career aspirations while nurturing the next generation of female leaders and entrepreneurs who will contribute to South Africa’s future economic development.

WHAT IS THE SELECTION PROCESS FOR THE SACBW FOUNDATION BURSARY?

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted. If you do not receive any feedback by 31 September 2026, please accept that your application was unsuccessful.

Bursary funds will be paid directly to the tertiary institution.

The bursary recipient will also receive the Youth Leader Award from the South African Council for Business Women.

WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE SACBW FOUNDATION BURSARY?

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must be Female
  • You must be younger than 20 years old
  • You must be currently in Matric
  • You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 70% in your current year of study
  • You must intend on studying towards a qualification within one of the fields of study listed above, in 2027
  • You must be in financial need and be unable to afford your studies

WHAT DOCUMENTS MUST I SUBMIT FOR THE SACBW FOUNDATION BURSARY?

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your email application (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):

  • ID document (certified copy)
  • June Matric results (certified copy)
  • Motivational essay to support your application (250 words – see application form for further details)
  • Short video in which you covers the info in your essay (3 minutes long)

Application Notes:

  • All documents, including the completed application form, must be put into a single pdf document, with your name and surname as reference
  • The video may be submitted via email, dropbox or we-transfer.
  • The application form mentions a registration fee of R199 – SA Bursaries has contact the SACBW Foundation to enquire whether this fee may be waivered. SACBW Foundation confirmed that students may apply and once they receive an application, they will evaluate the possibility of waiving the registration fee.
